Letterkenny business zips up top prizes

The Zip Yard, Ireland’s premier garment alteration business, which has a branch in Oliver Plunkett Street, had it all sewn up at the Ulster Bank Franchise Awards in the RDS, Dublin last weekend. Taking three awards from four nominations, The Zip Yard was the big winner on the night.

Caroline Wallace, who together with her father Don Wallace, is the National Franchisor for The Zip Yard Group, picked up the prestigious award for Best Woman in Franchising along with the award for Best Indigenous Irish Product anda silver award for Best Growth.

“I was delighted to accept the awards which recognise the efforts of The Zip Yard franchisees throughout the country” said Caroline. “We introduced this practically recession proof business opportunity to the Irish market in 2009 and we are all thrilled that it has taken off.”
