Officers from Revenue executed a search warrant for unlicensed trading at a filling station in Glenties, earlier this week. Unlicensed trading literally means that the trader was trading/operating without a licence.
Section 101, of the Finance Act, 1999 requires all Mineral Oil Traders who produce, sell, deliver or deal in, or on, any premises, mineral oil (i.e. hydrocarbon oil, liquefied petroleum gas and substitute fuel) for use for combustion in the engine of a motor vehicle, to take out a Mineral Oil Trader’s Licence. The licensing year runs from July 1 to June 30 and the licence will expire on June 30 of each year, regardless of the issue date.
