Margo O’Donnell, the Queen of Country and Irish Music returned to Óstán Loch Altan, Gortahork last Saturday night for her Annual Concert in aid of The Mullaghduff Fife and Drum Band.

Margo who has always been a huge supporter of The Mullaghduff Band, has held the concert for over five years now and continues to fill the ballroom to capacity each year, singing all her hits, both old and new.

This year she was joined on stage by local artists including Jacqui Sharkey and Gavin Boyle who have both recently released their own new albums.

The crowd started queuing outside the hotel from 6.30pm not to mention those who couldn’t get tickets for the sell-out show. Sean McElwee was there to meet Margo and offer his usual hospitality.

They travelled from far and near to hear her sing all her old time favourites and for many it evoked nostalgic memories of other nights in many other places at home and abroad when they danced the nights away to the sweet voice of a much younger Margo. She may have matured and moved on but the magic in her voice still remains and she looked fantastic.
