It was a special day, with the benefit of some sensational weather in the morning, at least, when the Donegal Ramblers motorcycle club gathered together in Bruckless for their annual charity run recently.

Now a familiar marking on the yearly social calendar in south west Donegal, a big thank you is extended to everyone who partook in the run with a total of 132 bikes participating in the popular event, from the organising committee.

Kevin Boyle, one of the main organisers said that the event reflected the true meaning of community spirit and co-operation and as last year, he was overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness of both the participants and the donations received.

“I would just like to thank sincerely everyone who was involved. It is a fun way to raise money for very worthy causes and without such voluntary work in many sections of our local communities, it would be very difficult to find this money from other sources. Raising over €5,000 was brilliant.”

Special thanks was extended to sponsors Gallagher Marine, Swan Nets, Sinbad Marine, Gallaghers Bakery, EK Marine, Mooney Boats, Tamway, Castle Murray, KER, Fluid Controls, DMG, Currans and The Ringfort Inn. Special thanks to the Garda, marshals, recovery escorts, announcers, DJ’s and the Girls @ the Registration. Both Charities were very grateful to receive €2,675 each.
