Social media puts Bundoran in the saddle

Social Media is fastly becoming some of the most effective marketing tools for many businesses throughout the world and well known sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are now regarded as integral parts of most marketing campaigns.

With an election on the very near horizon politicians are now tweeting and making new friends on Facebook in the hope of reaching a previously untapped market. One Donegal leisure company has been quick to recognise the effectiveness of social media networking and the many fans of the Donegal Equestrian Centre in Bundoran, have recently voted the Centre into the finals in the 2011 Equestrian Social Media Awards, presented by Rhea Freeman PR and Marketing and Abbeyview Equine.

The Donegal Equestrian Centre’s website and social media presence keep fans informed about events at the centre and also showcase local events as well as news from the equine industry.

Competition for the award is high with nearly 4000 nominations across all categories. The Donegal company been nominated in category 13 Best use of social media by a Riding centre and are the only nominee in that category from Ireland. The awards are international and have been split into two sections - UK & Ireland and International.
