A syndicate from the North West collected a cheque for €11,179,621 today at National Lottery Headquarters in Dublin.  They won the prize on Saturday, August 20.

Speaking from the National Lottery’s Winners’ Room today, a spokesperson for the syndicate said “We’re absolutely delighted.  We look forward to good health and happiness.”

The lucky ticket was bought in the Spar on Main Street in Kinlough, Co. Leitrim, making this the biggest every National Lottery win in the county.

To date, 20 jackpots worth over €10 million have been won by players in Ireland. The largest Lotto jackpot win was in June 2008 when a syndicate in Carlow won €18,963,441.

This is the second largest Lotto jackpot prize won this year. In January, a Co. Mayo family won €13,793,435 after a buying a Quick Pick Lotto ticket in Careys in Belmullet, Co. Mayo.

There was no winner of last night’s Lotto jackpot, although one lucky ticket holder who bought their tickets in Kilkenny matched five numbers and the bonus to win €229,606.

This Saturday's jackpot is an estimated €3.5 million.
