Donegal duo’s “Folkswagon” recording is an online hit

Claire McDaid and Denis Kelly, the duo behind the “Folkswagon Sessions”.

Buncrana based musical duo, Don't Fear The Natives, are enjoying an online hit with their new video, filmed in their classic camper van.
Featuring Claire McDaid on vocals and Denis Kelly on guitar, the group come up with the idea of recording acoustic tracks in the back of Claire's camper van, as part of a unique series called “The Folkswagon Sessions”.
Claire explains: "We thought it would be a good idea to record a new tune we were working on - 'Whose Side Are You On' - in a completely different surrounding. The camper van's interior was perfect. It looks great and sounds good. The entire thing took three minutes to record on an iPad and cost nothing. We thought we'd post it on the band's Facebook page for a laugh, and within a day we were hitting 1000 views.”
They are already planned on adding more songs to The Folkswagon Sessions, travelling to different locations around Donegal, highlighting the attractions and beauty of the county, may also invite some fellow musicians to join them for a tune in the camper van.
