Book Clinic for children coming to Letterkenny

Book Clinic for children coming to Letterkenny

Children’s Books Ireland’s Book Clinic’s nationwide tour is coming to the Courtyard Shopping Centre on Tuesday 22nd March. Donegal County Library Service has teamed up with Eason’s Letterkenny and the Courtyard Shopping Centre to present a free fun filled family day for children of all ages. Parents and children are invited to drop in for an informal consultation with one of Children’s Books Ireland’s friendly panel of Book Doctors, who are ready to offer the best advice for the young readers in your family. Every patient and their family leave with a Reading Passport containing a book prescription to take to their local library or bookshop to have it filled!

“We’re very excited to have the Book Clinic come to Donegal” states Karen Sheehy from Donegal County Library Service. “I’ve seen them in action before and it’s a great way of inspiring children to read.”

“The novelty factor seems to really capture a child’s imagination” Karen adds “and with the help and support of Eason’s Letterkenny and the Courtyard Shopping Centre, we plan to have a day packed with fun activities.”

The day begins with an Easter Egg Hunt around the Shopping Centre at 11am and the Book Doctors will be available from 12pm to 3pm to meet with patients. There will be additional fun with face painting, crafts, storytelling and a book review competition.

Inspire the children in your life to pick up a book this Easter by visiting the Courtyard Shopping Centre in Letterkenny on Tuesday 22nd March between 11am and 3pm.
