Up to 400 women, men and children marched from Letterkenny Institute of Technology to Letterkenny’s Market Square to protest against the planned transfer today ot specialist gynaecology beds from the gynae ward to Surgial 2 ward.

Supporters of the ward are planning to hold a candlelight vigil tonight at 8pm at the Letterkenny Gneral Hospital car park. Participant are asked to bring a candle with them.

Further details will be posted to the ‘Save the Gynae Ward at LGH’ facebook page, which had more than 3,400 followers yesterday afternoon.
