Tragic death of Donegal man in Galway

The funeral will take place this morning at St Mary’s Church, Lagg of Matthew Lougue whose body was found in Co. Galway last week.

Mr. Lougue, from Keenagh, Malin Head, who was in his 30s, had been missing for more than a week.

He had been living in Galway recently but had been missing since last weekend.

A search was launched on the River Corrib when a man was spotted in the water near the docks.

The man was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

However, because the body contained no identification, it took a number of days to identify the deceased.

After further investigation, the body was found to be that of the Inishowen man.
