More than 600 people went to see Jedward on Monday night at the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran. An event which was loved by everyone who went, even those who don’t consider themselves ‘Jedheads’.

I admit that I initially thought that this was going to be a horrible showcase of how not to sing, but in fairness the two young men stayed in tune, interacted with the crowd, and were even on the verge of giving the security a heart attack each time they hopped the barriers and climbed through the audience.

The Lucan lads were accompanied by a group of six background dancers who allowed Jedward to reach for the stars, quite literally as they lifted the young performers up into the air! One of the background dancers was the well known ‘Sean’ from ‘Fair City’.

The two young men interacted with the audience fantastically well as they even produced water guns which drove the crowd crazy and had them jumping up and down on their chairs. The crowd was so tired from jumping up and down that I even noticed one little fella taking a little nap during the second half!

Of course this performance would not have been so good if it were not for the fantastic transformation of a simple function room into a marvellous stage good enough for two of this nation’s best known idols.

The light and sound equipment was so high-tech that you could even feel it vibrating through your body. I guess that’s where the saying ‘the music touched my heart’ came from, because it certainly touched mine so much so that I can still feel it!

The performance ended with a bang as confetti cannons were fired at the end of the song ‘lipstick’ which left everybody leaving full of excitement and fulfillment from such an amazingly produced and performed show.
