Senator to speak on Intergenerational Solidarity

Senator Marie Louise O’Donnell is the guest speaker at a lunchtime seminar which will take place at the Public Services Centre, Letterkenny on Wednesday, the 19th of September 2012 from 12.30 p.m.-2.00 p.m. Senator O’Donnell, a native of Mayo, was nominated by the Taoiseach to the Seanad in May 2011. A communications lecturer at Dublin City University lecturer and former actor, Senator O’Donnell will speak about the importance of intergenerational solidary as well as sharing her experiences of the Seanad and being a female politician.

The event is part of Donegal County Council’s Social Inclusion week and is being organised by Women into Public Life, Donegal Women’s Network, Voice of Older People Donegal and Donegal Youth Council. The seminar will also hear from representatives from these organisations on how we can build solidarity between the generations in these challenging times.

The event is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served.
