WINNING SMILES at the The Weddings Online Awards 2013: Samantha McNulty, Wedding Advisor; Sheila Russell, Sales Adviser; and Deirdre McGloin, Proprietor of Harvey's Point Hotel.

Congratulations to the Donegal winners in the WeddingsOnline.ie Awards 2013.

The county fared exceptionally well in the awards ceremony, taking four national prizes, a regional award and a judges commendation.

Harvey’s Point Hotel carried the top honours, being named Best Overall Wedding Venue in Ireland and also winning the award for Best Wedding Venue Ulster.

Proprietor Deirdre McGlone told the Donegal Democrat: “I’m delighted at this tremendous achievement, which is a reflection on the quality of our wonderful team at Harvey’s Point.

“Samantha, Sara, Christopher, the two Pauls and the entire team under the direction of Noel are all unstinting in their dedication and the attention the pay to detail for each and every wedding. They all go the extra mile with a smile!”

Design Your Moments, a company run by Kerry Harvey from Clar, Donegal Town, won Best Wedding Industry Newcomer . Kerry creates designer keepsakes and cake toppers. Kerry said: “It’s brilliant! To be honest, I was a bit shocked on the night because a lot of the newcomers have been in business longer than I have.”

McElhinneys Department Store in Ballybofey, no stranger to awards, scooped the award for Best Wedding Supplier Website while Callaghan Jewellers of Buncrana was named Wedding Jeweller of the Year.

Lough Eske Castle received a Judges Commendation in this year’s awards.
