Appropriately on a night when news was just breaking that Donegal had been awarded a total of 8 All Stars for their achievements on the playing fields, the Sam Maguire arrived to the splendour of one of Ireland’s best hotels.

All- Star and strong contender for Player of the Year, Karl Lacey along with his girlfriend Ciara McGroarty brought the iconic Sam Maguire trophy along to the famous cabaret much to the delight of Noel Cunningham and his own team as well as the many football fans who came along for the evening.

Paying tribute to Karl, Noel Cunningham said, “This man is one of the greatest ambassadors for this county - he always makes time for everybody, signs that all important autograph and at the same time, manages to carry out his role as both a footballer and a banker with equal prowess.

“Word has it that Karl has been awarded yet another All Star award this evening; something he richly deserves - perhaps by the time people are reading this article, he will have been awarded Player of the Year” he said

Noel also outlined details of his upcoming programme to this newspaper saying, “Our final cabaret for the season takes place next Thursday, November 1st and it is totally booked out which is a tribute to all the great artists who have been with us throughout our most successful season ever.

“However, Christmas is just around the corner and I am delighted to say that we will be open as normal the whole way through the festive season with some very exciting events.

“On December 14 we will be hosting our Christmas Cabaret with a host of stars including Roly Daniels, our very own Dean Martin Tribute, our Christmas choir and a host of other well known stars including one red - suited bearded man!

“Just a week later on the 22nd. we will host the “Ultimate Christmas Style Party” - an evening of Haute Couture, High Fashion, Glorious Food and simply great entertainment.

“It is really worth mentioning at this stage that we will be serving our traditional Gala Christmas Day lunch and it is advisable to book early to avoid disappointment.

“Likewise with our special New Year’s Eve Candlelight Dinner with our very own piper to ring in the New Year, a gourmet dinner in our Lakeside Restaurant and dancing to the Dean Martin tribute Ensemble,Eugene Ginty and Pauline Thompson”
