One in three cigarettes in Letterkenny illegal

Letterkenny has the fifth highest percentage, 33.9, of illegal cigarettes in Ireland.

Letterkenny has the fifth highest percentage, 33.9, of illegal cigarettes in Ireland.

New research has shown the growing problem of illegal cigarettes in Donegal, with over one in three cigarettes in Letterkenny being non Irish duty paid (NIDP).

The figure of 33.9% was well above the national average of 29.8% and placed Letterkenny fifth highest of the 22 towns and cities that were surveyed by MS Intelligence for the second quarter of 2012.
