Murder probe: Woman released without charge

A woman in her 50s, who was arrested in connection with the murder of Seamus Doherty at his home near Churchill last weekend, has been released without charge.

On Thursday night a man in his 40s, who was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder, was also released without charge.

Gardaí say a file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Mr Doherty’s body was found when gardaí were called to his home in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The results of a post mortem examination indicated the 67-year-old died what is being described as a traumatic death.
