Lightning strikes house
Lightning struck a house near Laghey this morning, setting a kitchen on fire.
A fierce storm hit the south of the county at around 6am, with thunder, lightning and hail storms reported in most areas. Power went out in parts of Tullaghan, Co. Leitrim, just south of Bundoran.
A garda spokesperson said that lightning struck a house at Bridgetown, at approximately 6am.
“The kitchen went on fire but the blaze was quickly brought under control and no one was injured,” he said.
