She’s been knitting gifts for a host of the world’s famous - and she’s just received a letter from the Queen to say thanks for her present.

Julia O’Donnell - mum to Daniel - sent a gift of a hand knit pair of gloves to the Queen for Christmas.

She’s watched Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Ireland on television and it was then 93-year-old Julia decided to knit some gloves for the British Royal.

“I was just so impressed with this woman,” she said. “She just showed so much dignity and I will never forget her standing in the Garden of Remembrance with her head bowed in respect or her saying the few words of Irish in Dublin Castle.”
