‘I still live in fear for my life’ - pensioner

"I'd be happy if I saw them dead on the street or rotting in jail." Phillis McGee referring to the robbers who attacked, threatened and ransacked her house at Belault outside Pettigoe, 2802MVBritton1 PMCG.JPG

A 78-year-old woman who lives in a remote part of south Donegal this week told the Donegal Democrat that she “still lives in fear for her life” after being threatened, manhandled and robbed on two occasions within eight weeks.

Phyllis McGee, who lives in an isolated area with her treasured 12 cats in an old cottage at Belault outside Pettigo, was attacked and robbed in her home. She said she still was very nervous and shaky six weeks after her trauma and said that she really “was living a life of fear.”

She told this newspaper, “The funny thing about it is that when I go to bed at night I sleep well, but it is during the day when I am at my worst, especially in the dark evenings.
