Hopes Letterkenny shop will re-open

A well-known shop in the Glencar area of Letterkenny, that closed its doors last weekend, will be sorely missed says one local resident, but there are hopes it will re-open soon.

The ‘Glencar Express’ closed its doors last Sunday afternoon but signs this week have gone up to say the business is “closed for stock taking” prompting hopes it will not remain closed for too long.

Local resident and Town Councillor, Gerry McMonagle, said the business was a “great asset” to local amenities and employed a number of local people.

“It was a business that was good for the area and hopefully somebody will take it on as it was well got and well regarded. I’d be surprised if someone doesn’t take it on,” he said.
