Hat-trick of awards for Solis Lough Eske

Donegal's five-star Solis Lough Eske Castle Hotel may only be two years old, but it's already scooped a hat-trick of industry awards.

In recent weeks, Solis Lough Eske was named the World’s Top Luxury Country Hotel. Now, two more honours have been added to the list. The hotel has topped the ‘myguideireland Top 10 Hotels in Ireland’ list and has been named one of the world’s best castle hotels by US based travel expert Stephanie Abrams.

The myguideireland Top 10 Hotels in Ireland list comprises hotels rated by guests based on hospitality, accommodation, food, exterior, facilities, location and value. This is the first year the company has used visitor feedback to compile a Top 10 list based on actual guest experiences.

Stephanie Abrams, one of the 100 most powerful women in travel, has included Solis Lough Eske in her “2010 – You’re The Tops Castle Hotels”. She has visited the property twice since it first opened.

The hotel’s general manager Andrew Turner said these latest accolades “are a further tribute to the exceptional facilities and service on offer at Donegal’s only five-star hotel.”

He added: “Solis Lough Eske Castle opened for business just two years ago and in the space of just 24 months has climbed to the top of the industry ladder. This is an achievement we are immensely proud of and reflects the commitment of the entire team to delivering the best possible guest experience here.

“The awards and the publicity around them will help raise public awareness of what we and Donegal have to offer and will, we hope, ultimately lead to more visitors coming to this glorious county.”
