John Doohan: Deeply regretted is the death of John Doohan, which occurred suddenly at his residence, Magheraboy, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, on Wednesday, 22 July.
Aged 59 years, John was originally from Drumnatinney, Falcarragh. His wife, Gloria (nee O'Boyle) is originally from Bunbeg. He was waked at his home in Maghraboy. His remains were removed to St. Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, on Saturday last for 11am Requiem Mass. His funeral took place afterwards to the adjoining cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; two daughters, Niamh and Aisling; two sons, Sen and Aindri; six brothers and four sisters; family circle, relatives and friends, to all of whom deep sympathy is extended.
Garden Fete: Falcarragh Community Hospital are holding a Garden Fete this Saturday, 1August in aid of the Patients' Comfort Fund. It will start at 2pm.
Donegal Leprosy Fund: The annual church gate collection in aid of the Donegal Leprosy Fund will be taken up outside all the churches in the parish this weekend. Your generosity will be deeply appreciated. All money collected at this collection will go to priests and nuns from this county working in the mission fields.

Mrs. Bella Queeally: Deeply regretted is the death of Mrs. Bella Queeally, 'Amada House', Mullaghduff, Kincasslagh, which occurred on Tuesday of last week. She was aged 67 years and was in ill health for some time. Her late mother, Mrs. Hannah Sharkey, ne (Sweeney), was originally from Gola Island, and was better known locally as Hannah Jimmie Hiuda Sheimidh. Bella's husband, Tommy, is well known in the Gaoth Dobhair area as he spent many years working in the bar of the Sea View Hotel, Bunbeg. Her sister, Mrs. Nell Cullen, lives in Strand Road, Magheraclogher. Her funeral took place in Annagry cemetery on Friday following Requiem Mass. She is survived by her husband, Tommy; son; daughter; six sisters; a brother; family circle; relatives and friends, to all of whom deep sympathy is extended.
Collection: In the recent church gate collection in aid of the senior Citizens Christmas Party the total sum raised amounts to 558 euro. The collection was organised by the Bunbeg ICA Guild and they would like to convey their gratitude to everyone who contributed. They would also like to thank all the collectors who helped with the collection.
File Ghabhla: Due to adverse weather conditions on Sunday the Mass which was scheduled to be celebrated on the island at 3pm had to be cancelled. A new date for the events will be organised shortly.

Sponsored Swim: There will be a sponsored swim from Inis Men Island to Port Arthur Pier on Sunday, 2nd August in aid of the Donegal Hospice (Pallative Care) and Ars Gaoth Dobhair. The swimmers will leave Inis Mean Island at 3pm. There will also be an exhibition from Cumann Curaigh Ghaoth Dobhair off Port Athur Pier. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Died in Scotland: The death occurred in Drumfrice, Scotland, recently of Mrs. Anne O'Mara. The deceased who was aged eighty years, was born in Corveen, Derrybeg, and was a member of the McGeehan family. She was affectionately known locally as Annie Charlie Hughie and she spent a considerable part of her life living in Scotland. This is the second bereavement suffered by the family in recent months. Her sister, Miss Maighread McGeehan, Corveen, died in Ars Ghaoth Dobhair, on January, 18th last. Anne is survived by a son; sisters; family circle; relatives and friends, to all of whom deep sympathy is extended. Her funeral took place in Drmfrice following Requiem Mass. A mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated in St. Mary's Church, Derrybeg on Tuesday, 4th August at 7pm.
Monster Bingo: A monster bingo session will take place in Ionad Pobail Chnoc Fola this Sunday night. A grand total of 2,200 euro will be paid out in prizes. At last Sunday night bingo in Ionad Pobail Chnoc Fola the following won 100 euro each: Mire Joe diver, Lunniagh, Leagh Marie Doohan, Curransport, Margaret McFadden, Cnoc Fola and Kitty Ferry, Brinaleck.
National Hunger Strike Commemoration: The National Hunger Strike Commemoration will take place on Sunday, 16th in Gabally, Co. Tyrone at 3.30pm. A bus will leave Gaoth Dobhair. For additional information please call 074 95 32832 (between 9.00am and 5.00pm).
