Mrs. Kitty Boyle: The death of Mrs. Kitty Boyle, Magheralosk, which occurred at Árás Ghaoth Dobhair, on Wednesday April 14th, caused deep regret in the community.
Aged 91 years, she was better known locally as Kitty Charlie Thimln (ne Boyle) and she spent a considerable part of her life living in Scotland. She was married to a Ranafast man, Charlie Boyle, and he passed away in 1980. She enjoyed her life in the Glasgow region and she made many friends there. While living there her main hobby was playing bingo. She worked as a housekeeper for a Jewish family, and she retired after spending fifty years working with them. Her warm, welcoming personality will be remembered and missed by all whose lives she touched during her long and industrious life. She moved from Glasgow to live in the family home in Magheralosk in 1998. She was predeceased by her sisters, Maggie Boyle, and Bridget Laughrey and by her brothers, Tim and Jimmy Boyle. The respect and esteem in which she and her family are held was evident in the huge crowds who attended the removal of remains from rs Ghaoth Dobhair, wake and funeral. Her funeral took place to Magheragallon cemetery on Friday following concelebrated Requiem Mass in St. Mary's Church, Derrybeg. The main celebrant of the mass was Fr. Donnchadh Baoill, C.C., Cnoc Fola (nephew of her late husband, Charlie), and con celebrants were, Fr. Michael Sweeney, P.P., Gaoth Dobhair,Fr. Sen Gallchir, P.P., Gortahork and An Dr. Oirmh. Pdraig Baoighill, Seiplineach Phobal Scoil Ghaoth Dobhair. Following the mass she was laid to rest in Magheragallon Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Maureen Doherty; (Magheralosk), son, Danny Boyle, (Carrickataskin), brother, Hugh Boyle, (Co. Leitrim), grand children, great grand children, nephews, nieces, family circle relatives and friends, to all of whom deep sympathy is extended. Her month's mind mass was be celebrated in St. mary's Church, Derrybeg on Tuesday, May 11th at 7.00pm.

Whist Drive: At the whist drive held in Scoil Mhuire, Derrybeg on Monday April 12th, Tony McFadden, Falcarragh with a score of 176 points won top score prize. First lady's prize with a score of 175 points was won by Caitln Mulhern, Gortahork, and second lady's prize with a score of 172 points went to Mary McGinley, Magheraroarty. First gent's prize with a score of 174 points was won by Fred Gallagher, Falcarragh and second gent's prize with a score of 168 went to Charlie Gallagher, Falcarragh. Samus McGinley, Magheraroarty, with 88 points had the highest score in the first half, while Mary Mulligan, Magheraclogher, with 84 points had the highest score in the second half.
Open Day: There will be an Open day at Lios na ng, Aisleann Ghaoth Dobhair on Sunday 25th April between 2 and 6pm Staff will be available to discuss childcare services, such as crche, preschool and after school services with parents.

Nellie Ward: Deeply regretted is the death of Mrs. Nellie Ward,
Bunaninver, which occurred in Letterkenny General Hospital on Good Friday. The deceased who reached the grand age of 97 years, passed away two days at hospital. Affectionately and better known locally as Nellie Shoirse, she was a member of the Ferry family and was originally from Corveen, Derrybeg. She moved to live in Bunaninver on her marriage to George Ward, and he predeceased her in 1995. Mary was a kind and gentle individual and was a great conversationalist. She had many interesting stories to relative regarding the time she was a young teenager. She was a member of a family of eight and she was the last surviving member of the family. She worked hard throughout her life and she lived a happy and healthy life. Her remains were removed from hospital to her home on Good Friday. There was a big turnout at the removal of remains from hospital to her home, wake and funeral. Her funeral mass was celebrated in St. Colmcille Church, Cnoc Fola on Easter Sunday and afterwards she was laid to rest in Magheragallon cemetery. The funeral mass was celebrated by Fr. Donnchadh Baoill, C.C., Cnoc Fola who also officiated at the graveside. She is survived by one son, Sen Ward (at home), family circle, relatives and friends, to all of whom deep sympathy is extended.
