Four arrested after break-ins - two gardaí, one suspect, injured after car rammed

Four more arrests have been made in Donegal following two alleged break-ins in the north of the county yesterday.

At around 2.40am, Gardaí in Buncrana received a report that people were in the grounds of a house at Crawford Square in Moville. The house was unoccupied at the time. Investigating gardaí discovered that the rear window had been smashed. Two people, one male in his 30s and one female in her 20s, were arrested at the scene. They were detained at Buncrana Garda Station and are due to appear at Letterkenny District Court today.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Buncrana received a report at 8.30am of people acting suspiciously at the Eircom yard at Bridgend. Investigating gardaí discovered a number of males trying to remove copper wire from the yard. The men tried to flee the scene and rammed a garda patrol car in the process.

Three juvenile males were arrested. Two were brought to Buncrana Garda Station, while the third was brought to Letterkenny General Hospital for treatment. Two juveniles are due to appear at Letterkenny District Court today in connection with this incident.

Two gardaí were also treated for at LGH for injuries received at Bridgend. Both have been released from hospital.
