Farmers funding frustrations

Donegal farmers voiced their anger and frustration at an often heated AGM of the Donegal branch of the Irish Farmers Association held in Letterkenny on Tuesday night.

Several speakers from the floor of the meeting in the Clanree Hotel clashed with guest speaker, IFA national Vice-president Eddie Downey, claiming the organisation does not do enough to support the mostly small to medium size farms in Donegal.

One speaker got a loud round of applause when he stated: “The IFA is not looking after the smaller farmer”.

See today’s Donegal Democrat for our full report on the meeting.
