Dublin man pleads guilty to manslaughter of Donegal journalist

A 21-year-old from Dublin has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of journalist Eugene Moloney, who had close ties to Fahan, last June.

The 55-year-old reporter was attacked as he walked home after a night out with friends in Dublin City Centre.

Gary Burch of Kennington Close, Templeogue appeared at at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court yesterday.

The court heard that the trainee mechanic has no previous convictions.

He is due to be sentenced in June.

Judge Mary-Ellen Ring ordered a victim impact report to be prepared for her consideration.
