Two men accused of having €1.6m worth of cannabis in Laghey have been remanded in custody by a High Court Judge.

They are due to appear at Harristown District Court on Friday.

Ming Sun, aged 44, and Xia Hua He, aged 35, both Chinese nationals, were refused bail at the High Court yesterday.

They are charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply and cultivation of cannabis at Trummon, Laghey on May 25 last.

The drugs were seized in a joint operation between detectives from Ballyshannon and members of the National Garda Drugs Unit.
