Donegal hairdresser goes Head to Head in top competition

By Michelle Nic Phaidin

Top hairstylist Daniel Montgomery is certainly a cut above the rest!

He’s just made the semi-finals in the hotly contested ‘The Nation’s Favourite Hairdresser Award.’

Daniel, who has only worked in the elite hairdressers ‘Elle Hair and Beauty’ for the past six months, is very much in demand in Donegal town.

He’s just been voted regional winner in the ‘Head and Shoulders’ sponsored competition to find Ireland and Britain’s Favourite Hairdresser 2008.

The UK-based shampoo firm launched their search earlier this year to find the ‘Nation’s Favourite Hairdresser 2010.’ The award is about celebrating the hairdressers who give ladies tresses to be proud of. Daniel was originally nominated by a thankful client, Niamh Brogan.

The semi-finalists were selected from thousands of entries.

The finalists will be chosen through a media voting system, and will go to London to take part in the grand final in London on April 22. Last year, Daniel excelled in the competition but this year he aims to go one step further and make his way to the top competition in London where stylists will quite literally go head to head.

According to a spokesperson, the Head & Shoulders’ Nation’s Favourite Hairdresser Awards 2010 is “a great way for clients to publicly thank their hairdresser for making them look great, perhaps rescuing their image with a new style or treatment that got lots of compliments or simply being a trusted confidante and friend.”

You can vote for Daniel by following the steps at www.headandshoulders.ie.
