Donegal cooks make national final

Two Donegal women have been shortlisted in the final of the national “Home-Cook Hero Award”

Eighteen-year-old Stacey Carr Kennedy from Glenties and Ethna Reynolds from Donegal Town, have both been shortlisted for the annual awards ceremony which celebrates unsung kitchen heroes all over Ireland.

The Easy Food Home-Cook Hero Awards take place on Friday, November 2nd in Dublin.

Stacey was selected for her dish, the Stacey Spicy Beef Surprise in the ‘Larder Luck’ category which challenges entrants to create a recipe using store cupboard staples. Ethna’s mouth-watering Vegan Chickpea, Black bean, Brazil Nut, Coriander & Oat Burger was shortlisted in this year’s ‘Best Burger’ Category. The ten category winners will each receive 1,500 worth of prizes, plus the opportunity to be showcased in the Easy Food Home-Cook Hero Awards Cookbook.

Judging this year’s competition are renowned celebrity chefs Kevin Dundon, Catherine Fulvio and Catherine Leydon, as well as Vanessa Greenwood of Cooks Academy and Gina Miltiadou, Publisher of Easy Food Magazine and Co-Founder of Zahra Media Group.
