Two juveniles from Derry have appeared in court in connection with the attempted theft of copper wire from an Eircom yard in Bridgend on Sunday morning.

Letterenny District Court heard that the two youths, who cannot be named because they are under 18 years old, were arrested at 8.45am on Sunday and were charged with theft and criminal damage that afternoon.

The court was told that when charged, one of the youths said, “I m sorry,” while the other remained silent.

The two youths have both been remanded on their own bond of 250 euro and on the condition that they stay out of Donegal except for court appearances and remain sober.

They have been remanded to appear at Buncrana District Court on February 14th.
