Donegal Action Against Austerity is supporting the Irish trade unions’ call for a national day of strike.

Joe Murphy of DAAA was speaking after members of DAAA took part in a pre-budget protest in Dublin last Saturday.

Members of the Can’t Pay Won’t Pay campaign from Donegal also took part in that event.

Mr Murphy said other groups congratulated DAAA on their work and both Donegal organisations for the strong Donegal presence in Dublin.

He thanked all those who have not yet paid or will not be paying the household charge.

Mr Murphy continued: “I would also like to say that we will be fully in support of the unions call for a national day of strike, again though we will have to wait and see what comes from this.”

He said DAAA also invites people to support their protest at Joe McHugh TD’s clinic at Tullyarvan Mill, Buncrana on Thursday evening at 7pm and a protest that they will be organising on Budget Day, December 5.
