Convoy Notes 21-08-08
Summer Holiday Bible Club: Children of national school age are invited to a Summer Holiday Bible Club, organised by Convoy Reformed Presbyterian Church. It will be held in the Convoy Enterprise Centre on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday 25, 26 & 27 August, from 6-8pm. Games, crafts, refreshments, singing, Bible story, quiz etc.
Sympathy: The Community of Convoy was saddened to learn of the untimely death of Rachel Harper which took place on Saturday, 9 August. Rachel who was a native of Convoy, but had been living in Dublin for many years, was educated in St Bridget's NS Convoy and Royal and Prior Raphoe.
She moved to Dublin where she had a successful career in the Civil Service. Her funeral took place on Monday, 11 August in St Mary's Church Convoy. Sincere Sympathy is extended to the immediate family and all other relatives.
The death occurred of Packie Callan of Ruskey, Convoy, on Sunday, 10 August, in Letterkenny General Hospital. His funeral took place on Wednesday, 13 August, at St Mary's Church Convoy. Packie was a well liked member of the Community and will be sadly missed by his family and friends and all who knew him.
Sincere Sympathy is extended to the Callan family and all other relatives. The Community was shocked to learn of the sudden death of Margaret Toner, Main St, Convoy, on Monday,11 August, in Letterkenny General Hospital.
Her funeral took place on Wednesday 13 August, at St Mary's Church Convoy. Margaret was a much liked and respected Member of the Community and a devout member of her Church. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Sincere Sympathy is extended to her husband Sean, Daughter Yvonne and Son Declan and Daughter in Law Colette and her extended family
Lost Keys: A set of four keys were lost in the Convoy area last week. There are 2 gold, 1 sliver and 1 black and sliver. If anyone has found them could they please leave them in the Convoy & District Development Association Office on Main Street.
Bus Trip: A Bus trip is being arranged to the Oul Lammas Fair in Ballycastle on Monday, 25 Tuesday, 26 August. The bus will be leaving Convoy at 7.45 am and Raphoe at 8am on the 25. For bookings please contact 074 9149273
Re Opening: Convoy Community Play Group will be re opening on Monday, 8 of September for the new term. Play group sessions will be from 9.15am to 12.45pm Mon-Fri. Spaces are very limited. The Committee would also like to take this time to welcome back the Staff, Viola McLaughlin and Playgroup assistants Lisa Doherty, Karen Smith and Bernie Doherty, and to wish the children all the best for the new term

Memorial Road Run: The sixth annual Robbie Robb and Sammy Cowan Memorial Road Run will take place on Saturday, 6 September, leaving St Joseph's Hospital, Stranorlar at 10.00am, travelling to Lifford via Raphoe. All proceeds in aid of the Sean O'Hare unit, Stranorlar.
