Civic reception just underway in Lifford for Donegal players

A civic reception for the Donegal Senior Football team hosted by Donegal Council Mayor Frank McBrearty in Lifford due to start at 8.30pm tonight, is just getting underway almost an hour later, such is the level of interest and attendance at the event at County House in Lifford.

Democrat reporter Alan Foley, who is covering the event for our Monday titles, told Democrat Online: “This place is busier than Croke Park, the team are just coming in now, there is huge interest in this, people everywhere.”

Mayor McBrearty will pay tribute to Jim McGuinness, his management team and players, saying they have brought honour to the county and he, as Mayor, is proud to accord them a civic reception for their achievements - an All Ireland senior title and two Ulster titles, back to back.
