Charities benefit from best ever Truck Fest

By Eamonn McFadden

This year’s North West Truck Festival was the most successful to date and has helped raise funds for two worthy charities, according to its founder.

Truck Fest’s Robert Brown says a huge crowd gathered in Milford last weekend to enjoy the fine display of trucks that travelled from all over Ireland and England, making it the best Truck Fest in its history.

As well as the trucks and lorries on display there was a family fun day, fun fair and live bands playing over the two day event.

The highlight was the grand finale when all the participating trucks formed a convoy and paraded through Milford bringing the event to a close for this year.

Each year the group hosts the event for charity and this year’s nominated groups were the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland and Suicide Awareness.

“I think it was one of the best weekends we ever had for crowds, it was unreal. The trucks looked well and everything went very well and there was no problem or hiccups at all. It was a great turnout all together,” claims Robert.

He added his thanks to everyone involved in making the event such a huge success and says he is looking forward to the fifth North West Truck Fest promising that it will be “bigger than ever”.
