Bundoran appoints new tourism officer

Bundoran has a new full time tourism officer.

Bundoran native, Shane Smyth, a son of Marie and Joe Smyth, takes up the post with immediate effect.

Shane, well known in media circles through his work as a broadcaster, was described as “a local with a huge enthusiasm and passion” for Bundoran.

Speaking at the Bundoran Tourist Office, where Shane will be based, Chairperson of both Bundoran Town Council and Erne Enterprise, Philip McGlynn said “we are delighted to welcome Shane on board as Tourism Officer for Ireland’s Premiere seaside resort – a local with a huge enthusiasm and passion for the town.

“On foot of this appointment we are also thrilled to advise that, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland North West that the Tourist Office will be open from St Patrick’s weekend until November 1st providing a central location for both visitors for information, and for business and tourism providers in the town also.”

The announcement was made by Erne Enterprise, in association with Bundoran Town Council and Discover Bundoran.
