Annual ball takes place at the Silver Tassie Hotel on November 25th.

Dr. Risal Djohan

The Breast Cancer Ball are very excited to have Dr. Risal Djohan attending this year’s event.
This year’s Breast Cancer Ball will be held in the Silver Tassie Hotel in Letterkenny on November 25th.
All monies raised at the ball are used to fund research at Breast Centre North West and to support important aspects of community care, including an outreach programme for those recovering from breast cancer.
Dr. Djohan, MD, is a plastic surgeon at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his medical training at Chicago Medical School and went on to complete a residency in general surgery through Catholic Health Partners, Columbus Hospital.
Dr. Djohan also completed fellowships in burn surgery, plastic surgery and microsurgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals and an aesthetic surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic.
He has served as section head of Breast Surgery for the Department of Plastic Surgery with special emphasis on breast reconstruction for patients with breast cancer.
A member of Cleveland Clinic Face Transplant programme, Dr. Djohan performed the first face transplant in the United States eight years ago.
In education, Dr. Djohan serves as the current programme director for microsurgery fellowship training and past programme director for the plastic surgery residency training programme.
Dr. Djohan earned his MBA degree at Case Western University, Weatherhead School of Management, a couple of years ago. This gives him the opportunity to be involved with the hospital administration service as co-director for quality improvement officer, and his recent appointment as vice chairman for the Department of Plastic Surgery.
From a local perspective, Dr. Djohan works collaboratively with Mr. Michael Sugrue and his team at the breast unit at Letterkenny University Hospital.
While he is in Donegal, Dr Djohan will address a seminar being held at Letterkenny University Hospital on November 25th, prior to his attendance at the ball.
The Breast Cancer Ball committee look forward to extending a real Donegal welcome to Dr. Djohan and his family on the night.
Tickets for the event are selling fast.
Anyone who would like to be part of this wonderful community event is urged to act swiftly and purchase tickets to the ball at any of these Letterkenny venues: Liberty Travel, Stateside American Restaurant, Tinney’s Oil or the Silver Tassie.
