Big crowd expected for Donal Reid Book Launch

The final preparations have been made for the launch of Donal Reid's autobiograph, 'Confessions of a Gaelic Footballer', on Saturday night in the Abbey Hotel. A large number of the All-Ireland winning squads from 1992 and 2012 are expected to attend.
The format of the launch will be kept simple and the night will be mostly one of nostalgia with time to recall the great events such as the All-Ireland successes at U-21 and senior. 2017 will mark the 25th anniversary of the 1992 All-Ireland senior success, and Monday last, 17th October, was the 34th anniversary of the big breakthrough for the GAA in Donegal, the All-Ireland U-21 success.
There are many other personalities from the GAA and sport world expected for the launch which begins at 8 p.m. and there will be an opportunity to get the book signed by Donal.
There will be a free draw for a book for all who attend and admission to the launch is free.
The author is at pains to point out that all proceeds from the sale of the book will go to Pieta House, who will have a representative present at the launch.
Shaun Doherty of Highland Radio will be in charge of proceedings, so get there early. There will be a complimentary cup of tea included.
The book will be launched by Anthony Molloy and Frank McGlynn, representing the two great successes of Donegal GAA, the All-Ireland wins in 1992 and 2012.
After the launch the book will be available at many outlets and would make the ideal Christmas present. Among the outlets where it will be available will be SuperValu, Ballybofey; SuperValu, Donegal Town; SuperValu, Dungloe and SuperValu, Grange; Four Masters Bookshop, Donegal Town; Dry Arch Complex, Letterkenny; Easons, Letterkenny; Michael Murphy Sports, Letterkenny; Bradleys, The Cross, Killygordon and the Donegal Democrat offices, Letterkenny and Donegal Town.
