Killybegs Coast Guard crew members and the Sligo 118 rescue helicopter coming to the aid of the two people aboard the grounded yacht.
Killybegs Coast Guard were called out in the early hours of this morning to assist two people on a yacht that had gone aground.
A spokesperson for Killybegs CG, said, "We were tasked at 4.11am this morning to a yacht that had hit ground at St.Johns Point with two people on board."
Rough seas meant that the volunteer crew could not safely bring the two people on board their boat, or try to use ropes from a cliff top to try to rescue them.
The CG Sligo Rescue 118 helicopter soon arrived however, and crew were able to winch the casualties up and bring them to safety.
Well done to all involved in this rescue!
