Four Donegal players have been named in the Irish Masters squad for the forthcoming two-test international rules series against Australia.
Bundoran’s Daniel Branley, Four Masters’ Charlie Gallagher, Kilcar’s David McShane and Naomh Muire’s Charlie Doherty are the players from Donegal who have been selected.
The Irish will host a touring Australian team in two test matches, one in Galway on Wednesday, October 19, and the second in Cavan on Saturday, October 22.
The teams will compete for the Paddy Gaffney Memorial Cup, named in honour of the former Irish Masters footballer from Cavan.
Masters Football for over 40s has been played in Ireland as an intercounty competition since 1990.
12 counties are taking part in this year’s All-Ireland Masters tournament, including Donegal, Leitrim and Sligo.
