A Donegal man has been sent forward to face trial in the Central Criminal Court on multiple sex offence charges, including making child pornography.

The man, who cannot be named, appeared at Letterkenny District Court today where he was served with a book of evidence on 19 alleged offences.

Among the charges were engaging in the production of child pornography, possessing child pornography, rape and several counts of sexual assault dating back to 2006.

Inspector Denis Joyce said the DPP consented that the accused be sent forward for trial to the next sitting of the Central Criminal Court on October 3.

Judge Paul Kelly sent him forward for trial and released him on bail.
