Donegal death notices for Thursday, September 15

Ellen McBride, Dunfanaghy and Creeslough

The death has taken place, in Letterkenny University Hospital of Ellen McBride, 53 Mc Neely Villas, Oldtown, Dunfanaghy (formerly of Muckish Terrace, Creeslough and Knocknafaugher, Dunfanaghy). Remains reposing at her home, house strictly private for close family only, please. She will be laid to rest in Balllymore Graveyard today following funeral mass at 12 noon in St Michael's Church, Creeslough.

Very Rev Thomas Marron, former CC, Ederney

The death has taken place of the Very Rev Canon Thomas Marron, PE, Trillick, Co. Tyrone.

Canon Marron, a native of Corduff, near Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan passed away peacefully at South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen on Tuesday morning.

He was ordained in St Patrick's College, Maynooth in 1952 and his first appointment was as CC in Ederney, where he served for seven years. He went on to serve as CC at CC Errigal Truagh (Carrickroe) and CC Roslea (Magherarney).

In 1982, he was appointed Parish Priest in the Parish of Poba, in Tempo, Co. Fermanagh and in 1997, he was appointed to the Diocesan Chapter of Canons.

Canon Marron remains are reposing at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tempo.

The Church will be open until 8.30pm this evening for those who wish to pay their respects.

Prayers will be offered at 12noon and Mass will be celebrated at 7pm.

Canon Tom's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12, noon tomorrow Friday, September 16, followed by burial in the local cemetery.

Baby Cormac Mark Lafferty, 14 Emmet Park, Castlefin

The death has taken place at the age of three months of Cormac Mark Lafferty, 14 Emmet Park, Castlefin, son of Annemarie and Paul Lafferty. He passed away last Saturday at Our Lady`s Children`s Hospital, Crumlin. Funeral mass at 11am in St Mary's Church, Castlefin, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers to Our Lady`s Children`s Hospital care of any family member.

Brigid Callaghan, née Gill, Carrowreagh Road, Carndonagh

The death has taken place of Brigid Callaghan, née Gill, Carrowreagh Road, Carndonagh. Remains reposing at her home. Funeral mass today at 11am in the Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
