Donegal death notices for Wednesday, September 14

Very Rev Canon Thomas Marron, former CC Ederney

The death has taken place of the Very Rev Canon Thomas Marron, PE, Trillick, Co. Tyrone.
Canon Marron, a native of Corduff, near Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan passed away peacefully at South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen on Tuesday morning.
He was ordained in St Patrick's College, Maynooth in 1952 and his first appointment was as CC in Ederney, where he served for seven years. He went on to serve as CC at CC Errigal Truagh (Carrickroe) and CC Roslea (Magherarney).
In 1982, he was appointed Parish Priest in the Parish of Poba, in Tempo, Co. Fermanagh and in 1997, he was appointed to the Diocesan Chapter of Canons.
Canon Marron remains are reposing at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tempo.
The Church will be open on Wednesday and Thursday from 8am until 8.30pm for those who wish to pay their respects.
Prayers will be offered at 12noon each day and Mass will be celebrated at 7pm each evening.
Canon Tom's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12noon on Friday, September 16, followed by burial in the local cemetery.

The death has taken place, at Letterkenny University Hospital last Friday, of Seamus Murray, 9 St Columba`s Grove, Ballyduff, Lifford. Remains are reposing at the home of his sister Betty McColgan, Penny Lane, The Common, Lifford. House private 11pm to 11am. Removal at 11.25am on Wednesday for funeral mass at 12 noon in St Patrick's Church, Murlog, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Baby Cormac Mark Lafferty, 14 Emmet Park, Castlefin

The death has taken place at the age of three months of Cormac Mark Lafferty, 14 Emmet Park, Castlefin, son of Annemarie and Paul Lafferty. He passed away last Saturday at Our Lady`s Children`s Hospital, Crumlin. Remains reposing at the home of his grandparents, Patricia and Vincent Lafferty, Corcullion, Castlefin from 8pm on Tuesday. House private 11pm to 11am. Removal at 10.35am on Thursday to St Mary's Church, Castlefin for funeral mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers to Our Lady`s Children`s Hospital care of any family member.

Tony Diver, Main Street, Dunkineely

The death has taken place of Tony Diver, Main Street, Dunkineely. Removal from his home at 10.30 this morning to the Church of St. Joseph and St. Conal, Bruckless for requiem mass at 11am, followed by interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to the Solace Donegal Cancer Support Center.

Brigid Callaghan, née Gill, Carrowreagh Road, Carndonagh

The death has taken place of Brigid Callaghan, née Gill, Carrowreagh Road, Carndonagh. Remains reposing at her home. House private 11pm to 10am. Removal at 10.30am on Thursday to Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh for funeral mass at 11am, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
