Last night's €11m euro lotto jackpot winning ticket has been sold by a shop in Kinlough, north Leitrim.
Noel McGowan owner of McGowan's Spar told the Donegal Democrat "It's fantastic, we're packed with people here this morning all in checking their purses and wallets, there's huge excitement and with a bit of luck it's someone local who won it."
The winning numbers were 10, 11, 12, 15, 18, 19 and the bonus number was 35. There was no claim for a potential Match 5 + Bonus jackpot of €336,544 and no winner of the Lotto Plus 1 or 2 top prizes.
Noel got a call last night from National Lottery HQ to tell him his Spar shop on the village's Main Street had sold the winning ticket valued at €11,179,620. The busy Spar shop where Noel has been in business for the last 35 years, has had a few €250,000 winners over the years, but nothing like last night's €11m jackpot.
Noel was just back from mass when the Democrat caught up with him: "Everyone is coming in and wishing us well and we're all wondering who won it. Other than we sold the winning ticket, the lotto people have given me no other information, no doubt we will hear more later."
He added: "All I hope is that they enjoy their win, enjoy good health and I would love if they were local to the area, but a winner is a winner. We have been inundated with people wishing us well. Iit was even mentioned off the Altar at mass, where our local priest Fr Thomas Keoghan wished us well and congratulated us on selling the ticket."
