Kinlough is to get daily bus services to Bundoran, provided by Local Link which would connect with the main public transport network there.
That’s according to local councillor Justin Warnock (pictured) who says he was informed of the move by Anne Graham CEO of the National Transport Authority.
“I am delighted for the people of Kinlough and surrounding areas, this
service is long overdue.
“I have been in contact with the NTA and Camilla Kelly and John Carr of Sligo Roscommon Leitrim Local Link for many months to provide this service and a timetable which would meet
the Bus Eireann schedule,” Cllr Warnock told the Donegal Democrat.
He says the new service will have an immediate impact: “When this service is up and running it will have an immediate impact on the lives of the people of Kinlough, as Bundoran has most services which we avail of on a daily basis, eg. Doctors, Bank, Shops,Secondary
school and Bus Eireann.
“It should enhance the lives of our older people who don't have cars and our young people who have to get public transport in Bundoran to go to college and to work.”
Cllr Warnock believes in the years to come the service will have a positive impact on tourism locally.
