Broadband rolled out in Donegal
50,000 homes and business now have access
Fifty thousand homes and businesses in Donegal can now access high fibre broadband.
It is envisaged that 75,000 will have access to the broadband by 2020.
The upgrading on Donegal’s broadband infrastructure continues with open eir having invested €25m to date.
Amongst the area to be added to the high-speed fibre broadband network are Bridgend, Carrigans, Falcarragh, Manorcunningham, Newtowncunningham and St. Johnston.
Creeslough, Dunfanaghy and Laghy are to go live in August.
Over 25,000 rural premises are to benefit from speeds of up to 1,000 Megabit as part of open eir's rural fibre to the home (FTTH) programme with the first rural communities going live in Autumn.
