Gardaí warn drivers to take extra care after collision near Laghey

Gardái in Donegal are asking motorists to drive especially carefully this morning following news of a two car collision near Laghey.

Emergency services are at the scene of the two vehicle crash which occurred about three miles outside Laghey on the Pettigo road. around 8.30am.

Two people were taken by ambulance to hospital. Their condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

The road is due to re-open this morning.

“Motorists should drive with extra care this morning, as there are still icy patches on many roads.

“Remember to drive more slowly, to allow for the conditions, and to leave extra space between your car and the vehicle in front of you, as your car will take longer to stop on an icy road,” a garda spokesperson said.
