A referees refreshers course will take place on the Thurs 13th Feb in Jacksons Hotel at 8pm. A second black card information night will take place on Mon the 3rd of February in the Villa Rose hotel at 7 pm this course must be completed by all referees before the start of competitions.

The second Fun Fridays Gaelic took place last Friday evening at Pairc Colmcille with another fantastic attendance. It continues this Friday (31st) from 6.30 to 7.30 pm. €2 per child and everybody is welcome. Dress for the weather and bring a drinks.

Only five days to go for The Kube. It all kicks off in the Villa Rose this Saturday at 8 pm. Tickets can be purchased directly from the Villa Rose or from any committee member. Saturday March 1st sees the return of the Naomh Muire Big Fight Night. A huge success in 2011 this great night of entertainment will be held in Dungloe RCS Sportshall this year with a large number of exciting bouts taking place. Tickets go on sale in the Cope, Annagry this Saturday at11am and are expected to sell fast. Ringside tickets located in the front ten rows are priced at €20, general tickets located in the well appointed Sportshall are €15 and children’s tickets (tickets limited) are priced at €10. A good turnout yesterday and we now have a panel of 20 plus young but enthusiastic players. This now presents an unbroken chain of football from u10 to adult, which is great to see and in particular it is great an adult team participating in the County Gaeltacht which is being hosted at our club this Mayy. The monthly club meeting will take place this Thursday, 30th January in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh at 8.30pm. All members of the club executive are asked to attend. The first Bord na nÓg meeting of the year takes place on Wednesday 5th February at 8.30pm in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh. All managers and mentors are asked to attend. Underage, minor,and senior teams are now back training. The club are putting in a great effort to bring ladies football back again and anyone interested in getting involved should attend a meeting this Saturday February 1st in the club house at 6.30 pm. Hugh Mc Clafferty and Hazel White have been appointed as managers for the forthcoming year. Registration for the year has begun with large numbers attending the registration evenings of Friday and Saturday last. It is imperative that all players are registered before they commence training. In 2013 the senior team ran ‘The Last Man Standing’ fund raising initiative which proved to be very successful. This year the opportunity is available to all club members and is being coordinated by Brendan Walsh. The entry fee is €10.00. Details and forms are available from Brendan. We have been asked by the clubs children’ s officer George Simmons anyone who is in receipt of their Garda Vetting Certificate to drop it into the club as soon as possible. Phil is a native of Aranmore and now lives in the parish where no doubt with his grasp of our native language he can bring a lot to the role in 2014. Under-14 boys training now on Friday at 6.30pm in the field. The registration night for adults and underage players is on Saturday, February 1 from 8pm to 9pm in the Heritage Centre. Cost is €10 for U18, €25 for an adult and €50 per family (2 adult and any children U18).
The Club are organising a first aid course for February 11 and 18 in the Heritage Centre if there is sufficient numbers. The course is from 7-10pm each night and successful participants will receive a certification. Anyone interested in taking part should contact Mary on 087-6878614.

There will a registration night in the St Patricks Centre this Wednesday night for all U8 and U12 boys. Regsistration will start at 6pm, finishing at 7pm. It is very important that all players are registered for insurance purposes. Parents are asked yo fill out the forms and sign a health survey. Registration costs €20 for U8′s and €30 for U12′s. U8 and U12 coaches will be present on the night to answer questions and explain the upcoming years for each team. There will be a registration night for the U10 and U16 boys football teams on Wednesday 5th February (6pm - 7pm)

The Club Under 8 and U10 presentation night is in Fintown Hall this Friday 31st January at 7pm. Membership is being collected in the clubhouse on Friday 31st Jan between 6-7 pm. The Donegal Sports Star Awards take place on Friday 31st January in the Mount Errigal Hotel. The Club has been nominated in the Team of the Year section alongside some stiff competition. Tickets are available directly from the Mount Errigal on 074-9106700. The Club received a great honor on Friday night past as it received the Ulster Club of the Year award from the Gaelic Life newspaper. This came completely unexpected as we were up against heavy weights in the shape of Clonoe of Tyrone and Watty Grahams of Derry. This award is further indication of the great strides being made by the Club both on and off the field.
The Club’s Scor na nOg instrumental group,which is made up of Eoin and Liam Orr, Kevin Egan and Kyle Macaulay, had a successful audition just before Christmas in the Dun Uladh Centre in Omagh and are now preparing for a trip to Dublin, on Jan 30th, to the RTE studios in Donnybrook to record for the live show recording of TG4’s ‘Scor Encore’. The show is called Scor Encore and is a competition for various talents and will begin on TG4 on Feb 9th. We can have up to 15 people in the audience so if anyone would like to go, just contact Brendan Ward or any of the club executive. Congratulations to Amber Barrett who was part of the Ulster Ladies Interprovincial side who defeated Munster 5-7 to 0-3 to lift the Interprovincial Shield title last Saturday. On the back of our Gaelic Life Ulster Club of the Year Award the Club has been cordially invited by the Crossmaglen Rangers club of Armagh to take part in their International 7s competition. The competition will take place on the Easter Bank Holiday weekend (April 19th-21st). Some of the 16 teams taking part are rumoured to be household names such as Ballinderry (Derry), Nemo Rangers (Cork), St Vincents (Dublin) and Austin Stacks (Kerry). A full weekend line up of entertainment will take place in Crossmaglen and the surrounding area over the weekend and invited teams have also been asked to take part in the annual South Armagh Easter Sunday parade bearing team flags. Mens Senior Captain Paddy Peoples and Ladies Senior Captain Orla Harrison took their respective double winning cups on a visit to Scoil Mhuire National School last Friday after being kindly invited by School Principal Aonrai Chivers. Scoil Mhuire Milford NS has been drawn in Section 2 of this years Cumann na mBunscoil football competition. They will play 9-a-side matches in Division 3 against Murlog, St Bridgets Convoy, and St Aengus Bridgend. Should they come out of this group as winners they will play the winners of Section 1 in the semi final.
