There was no winner of our weekly flotto, the numbers drawn were: 4, 10, 21 and 29. Nearest were Joseph Shovlin, Kilclooney and Angela Breen Blackrock, Co. Louth. Next week’s jackpot stands at €6,500. The club AGM will take place on December 8 in the Community Centre, time to follow. Naomh Ultan

The agm will take place this Sunday, 24th of November at 5pm in the clubhouse. If anyone feels there could be changes made in certain areas of the club or have suggestion regarding the oncoming year this is a great opportunity to voice your opinions. All are very welcome to attend, may it be players, parents or general club members, and as always new members are always welcome. Royal Flush Draw results for the weekend of 17/11/2013 were 1, 12, 17 & 19. There was no winner of the jackpot of €2300. Consolation prizes went to John Cassidy, Maria Brosnan & Brendan Woods. Na Cealla Beaga

The Club are holding a Child Awareness course in Fintra Clubrooms on Thursday Night 21st November at 7.30pm sharp. Space is limited to 16 people, to book contact Ed Byrne ASAP on 087-3605029, it is also advisable for anyone who completed this course more than 5 years ago to refresh it as much has changed. The senior board presentation night is on Saturday December 28th in the Clock Tower, Music on the night is by the Bigs Jigs, followed by a disco, presentations to the 25 year Jubilee teams of 1988 the senior and Junior B championship winners. Ticket price is €20, tickets will be available shortly and can be ordered from the club treasurer Sarah Tully or secretary Ed Byrne.

Glenswilly

The past weekend will be remembered for new arrivals and new heights achieved in Glenswilly. We congratulate our senior manager Gary and his good wife Amanda on the latest addition to the McDaid family and hope baby Jack will grow to become a healthy strong footballer in the Glenswilly jersey.

Sunday past in Omagh saw Glenswilly achieve meteoric heights in the realm of Ulster Senior football. The victory over Roslea puts the club in the position of being one of the top two clubs in Ulster alongside Derry kingpins, Ballinderry in this years Champioship.

The victory over Roslea revealed a character in this fine Glenswilly team that has grown over this past year. This game will be remembered not alone for the performance of the big guns of Glenswilly, but also the massive contribution from the so called fringe players on the day. The lads performed as a finely tuned unit.

We will be returning to Omagh on Sunday, Dec.1st to face Ballinderry of Derry in the Ulster showcase. Throw will be 3pm .

In honor of the success of reaching the Ulster Final the club are holding an “Up For The Match” evening in the Club hall this coming Friday (Nov.22nd). MC for the night is Charlie Collins, with interviews with past and present players. Local musicians, singers and dancers will provide entertainment. Admission is €10 for adults and €3 for under 16s and tea and sandwiches will be provided for all.Doors open 7pm so come along for a great nights craic.

Four Masters

The Bord Na n’Óg Presentation evening, in conjunction with the ladies will be held on Sunday, 24th November downstairs in Dom’s Pier 1. This will be a very busy evening showcasing the work being done and the fabulous efforts made by the children in camogie, hurling and football. The presentation will start promptly at 6pm and is hoped to be completed by 8pm. There was no jackpot winner of this weeks lotto. Two weekly winners were Raymond Timoney, The Glen, Mountcharles and Edmund Cassidy, Ballyraine, Letterkenny. Both received €50 each. Numbers drawn were 2, 5, 18 & 20. Next weeks jackpot is €2700. St. Michael’s

There was no jackpot winner in the St. Michael’s mini lotto on Sunday night Sunday last; The numbers drawn were 1,3,4,13,14,16; there were no Match 5 winners. 16 people matched 4 and their names were drawn, the winner of the €100 was Patricia McGarvey Chapel Road. This weeks jackpot will be €4500.

DVD’s of the Battle of the Bridge Big Fight Night are now available from Brid Gallagher in the Dunfanaghy Post Office priced €10.

The club would like to say congratulations to Marie O’Reilly who received and Ulster School’s All Star recently. Marie plays her club football with Termon Ladies and is a student at Loreto College Letterkenny.

Hard luck to the under 15s were defeated by Buncrana in the quarter-final of the championship on Sunday last after extra time in Buncranna.

Aodh Ruadh

Aodh Ruadh were like a greyhound out of the traps in this under 21 B championship final in Convoy. However, as the rain started to come down Burt’s battling qualities saw them get a draw and then almost claim the title, only to be denied by a Peter Boyle special two minutes into added time at the end of extra-time.

The Bord na nÓg agm takes place on Friday 29th November at 7pm in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh.

The last event on the Ladies calendar is the agm which will take place on Saturday 23rd November at 7pm. The senior hurling agm took place recently and the following appointments were made. Chairman: Aidan Begley; Secretary: David Downey; Treasurer: Stephen Sheerin; Senior manager: Kevin Loughlin.

The juvenile hurling committee held their agm on Thursday last. A full review of 2013 took place and plans were made for 2014. After an unforgettable evening in Dorrian’s last Saturday, an emotional Niall ‘Leaving On A Jet Plane’ McCready was crowned the Alternative Rose of Ballyshannon. Niall was feted with the acclaim of the crowd and his rival roses, Kerry Ryan, Aidan Murray, Shane Toolan, Billy Grimes, Donagh Keon, Brendan ‘Benji’ Drummond, Michael Daly, Liam Winters, Paul McGonigle and Luis Moreira after a stern test of his alternative rose credentials. Niall received his tiara from the Ballyshannon Harvest Fair Queen, Laura Gallagher, who looked suitably impressed. However it would be fair to say that all our roses really, er, rose to the occasion and gave everyone there an outstanding night’s entertainment which continued on into the wee hours. Thanks to the ever-suave Sean Perry for keeping the gushing to manageable levels and to our astute judges Michael McLoone, Patricia Keane and Charlie Gillespie. Thanks to David O’Donnell for music and Martin Ferris who took care of lighting. The clubs annual agm will take place on Friday 6th December in McCreadys starting at 8 pm sharp.

The lotto jackpot was not won. Two lucky dip winners recieve 50 euro each, Christine Ward, Loughanure and Charlotte McCready, Longfield.

Well done to our minor footballers John McDyre and Christian Bonner who qualified for the Ulster schools final with the Donegal Vocational Schools team as they defeated Tyrone in last weeks semi- final.

The clubs Strictly Come Jiving takes place this Saturday night in the Highlands Hotel. The Annual General Meeting will take place next Friday the 22nd at the club house at 7.30pm. This is a very important yearly meeting for members and executives to have their say in the club and were important jobs within the club are filled.

The seniors defeated Cloughaneely in the Division Two relegation play-off on Saturday, to retain their status.

Hard luck to the Under 15s who lost out in the quarter finals to Naomh Padraig Muff. We led for long periods of the game, with good scores from Cark Dunnion, Shane Thompson and Adam Lynch, but we were caught by a late goal. The under 8s had their last blitz of the season on Saturday. We were delighted to welcome Neil Gallagher to the club to present the medals to the teams. We know Neil is a very busy man, with Glenswilly and the county team and we appreciate him taking the time to present the trophy. As always we would like to thank Mary and Enda Bogle from the Flower Shop for their continued support of the club and the Under 8’s in particular. There were no winners of this weeks lotto. Numbers drawn were 5,12,18 and 26.There was 1 match 3 winner. Aidan Mc Ginty, Corefin receives €150. Next week’s Jackpot is a massive €7,500. John Lillis’s team is selling next week.

Milford

The underage presentation night was a fantastic to see such a huge turnout at the underage presentation night on Saturday evening. The club would like to thank Donegal star Eamon McGee, for making the trip up from Gweedore for the presentation night. All welcome. Nomination forms for executive posts will be available shortly. Anyone looking to run for a position on the executive must be nominated, even the current incumbent in that position. The county semi finals of Scor na nOg this Saturday, the 23rd November, in the Milford Parochial Hall, beginning at 8.00pm. The Clubs taking part will be Gaoth Dobhair, Cloichanaolach, Naomh Michael, An Tearman, Na Dunaibh, Gael Fhanaide, and of course our own club Baile na nGalloglach. Congratulations to Amber Barrett and Shannon McGroddy who have been selected for the 2013 Kukri Ulster Schools All Star Team. This is the third year in a row Amber has been awarded an All Star and the second year that Shannon has been selected.

This years dinner dance sure to be a great night due to the fantastic success of our Senior Mens and Ladies teams this year. It has been the most successful year ever for the two teams and has seen both complete the domestic double and also going far in Ulster, while our Gaelic for Mothers & Others team also made great strides. The two league and two championship trophies will be presented as well as a host of player of the year awards and Hall of Fame awards. Tickets for this years dinner dance will be available from Aidan Cannon (087-1223177). Music on the night will be provided by Paul McCahill and DJ Mo Kelly . The club have been relegated to Division 3 following their defeat to MacCumhaills on Saturday last. The club had a sell out show on Saturday night in Óstán Loch Altan for our Jigs & Reels event. To all our Jig & Reels dancers, the winners of the Judges vote Ashlene and Joseph and Audience vote Judy and Gerry and to Orla and Kevin who narrowly missed out after it went to a dance off, Carmel and Declan, Barbara and John, Helena and Brian, Milly and Adrian, Caitlin and Hugo, Amanda and St John and last but not least Mickey “Devina Devine and Denis. To our dance teaher Natalie Mc Geever, we thank you kindly for your hard work and patience over the last 8 weeks in training. Our thanks also to the judges Murt, Niamh and Charlie, fear an tí Enda who kept things running nicely and held the show together. To Seamus O’Domhnaill, Joe McGarvey, Martin Duggan and Orla who organised the show, and put so much time and hard work into it. Pride of place this week goes to our under 16 team who reached the county final where they will play against St Eunans. They defeated Glenfin in the semi-final on Sunday last on a score-line of An Clochan Liath 0-13, Glenfin 1-5. Some good performances from Brian O’Donnell, James McCole and Ryan Greene. We wish Eugene and his entire panel of players and mentors the best of luck in the final and we encourage as many as possible to support the team in the final.

Naomh Columba

The Bord na nÓg AGM takes place this Sunday, November 24th, at 6pm. Everyone interested in the minor board is most welcome. Club AGM takes place on Sunday, December 1st, at 1.30pm. The annual club dinner dance takes place on Friday, December 13th, in the Blue Haven Hotel. Tickets are priced at €30 and can be ordered from Bernadette Carr or Noel Ellis. We need all names in by December 9th. Tickets can be paid for on the night, but must be ordered in advance. In schools football, Coláiste na Carraige enjoyed a good week last week, with both the under 14s and under 16s victorious in their respective matches against Glenties Comprehensive and The Abbey VS.
