Well done to our Under13 Girls who have reached the County Final which takes place in Colaiste Ailigh on Saturday november 15th at 11am. Once again a fantastic achievement so your support on Saturday would be greatly appreciated.
Following the disappointment of the County Final the Seniors were back in League action wit an away fixture to Ardara, the boys came away with a victory by a scoreline of 14pts to 9pts. Next up in the league is a home tie against Kilcar scheduled for Sunday Nov 16th but keep an eye on facebook for confirmation of this.

The Aodh Ruadh AGM will take place on Sunday 7th December at 3pm in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh. Nomination papers have now been circulated to all adult members whose e-mail details are on the online registration system. For those who did not receive nomination papers, they are also available to print and download from aodhruadh.org. The deadline for receipt of nominations is midnight Friday, 28th November. Anyone who requires nomination papers to be posted to them is asked to contact Emma Gaughan on 0863039610, to make arrangements. The deadline for receipt of motions passed at midnight, Monday, 17th November.
A fine first half performance was enough to see Aodh Ruadh defeat Naomh Bríd 2-13 to 0-9 to conclude their division three season on 26 points. A win for Naomh Columba in the last round league games saw them finish as league champions with 27 points. But a draw between Naomh Colmcille and Milford meant they finished on 25 points and so Aodh Ruadh can now look forward to a promotion / relegation play-off against Glenfin. Aodh Ruadh led by 2-8 to 0-6 at the break with the decisive move coming in the final eight minutes of the half, when they added a second goal against an understrength Naomh Bríd. They started very well and led by 1-5 to 0-1 after 18 minutes. David McGurrin, as usual, was to the fore but the goal was the highlight of the opening quarter, Barry Mulligan taking the ball on the run, turning and blasting to the corner of the Naomh Bríd net on 14 minutes. The second goal from McGurrin on 26 minutes gave Aodh Ruadh a great cushion and despite some good points from David Walsh, the result was more or less decided by the break. The second half saw Kerry Ryan dominate the game from midfield, spraying passes like a veteran while young Philip Patton was showing really well and he finished the game with a personal tally of 0-6. David McGurrin retired at half-time with a shoulder injury, while Niall Harley had replaced James O’Donnell after just five minutes and made a useful contribution. We have a full team list and some pictures from the game up at aodhruadh.org.
Aodh Ruadh reserves finished their season with a flourish, a 5-10 to 1-9 victory over Naomh Bríd sealing their division three league title. Once again Michael ‘Sticky’ Ward lead the line well getting on the end of a goal and running up a fine tally of points. Also showing well in the forwards was Jason Gallagher. Gallagher worked like a dog throughout and had a couple of points to his credit, and was unfortunate to have a goal disallowed. Tom Hope was played in at corner forward and got a himself a great goal in the first quarter to set the Ernesiders on their way. The win was built on an excellent display by Niall Thomas in the middle of the field and Ryan Granaghan also contributed well when moved into the engine room. The half back line were immense, Calum ‘Cookie’ O’Halloran a ball of energy while Ciaran Slevin and Christopher McCabe gave straight and honest effort on the wings. The subs also worked well for Ballyshannon, especially Daniel Kelly came on and hoovered up a lot of ball around the central area. A word too for Jason Granaghan made his debut in senior football off the bench, coming in at corner forward. Well done to Jim Kane, Raymie Granaghan and everyone who helped and lined out for the reserves over the course of the season on bringing some welcome silverware back to the club. We have some pictures from the game up on aodhruadh.org.
The Bord na nÓg AGM will be held shortly. Anyone interested in getting involved in coaching or committee please contact Shane Ward, Shane Toolan or Tracey Flood.

St. Michaels Minor Board
St. Michaels 0-13 v Carrickmore 0-07
A triumphant St. Michaels of Dunfanaghy progressed to the semi-final of the Paul McGirr Ulster U16 Club Champions Tournament when a dominant second half performance saw them overcome the challenge of Carrickmore.
Things looked good for the Tyrone men in the first half with James McGurk dominant at the back and Conor Loughran looking dangerous in midfield but they were unable to sustain their performance as St. Michaels and man of the match Ciaran McGinley in particular took a grip on proceedings. Two superb long range scores from Loughran and a Ciaran Daly free following a foul on Loughran put Carrickmore three ahead early on and but for some wayward passing and shooting they would have been much further ahead.
The Donegal lads took a while to settle, indeed it took St. Michaels twenty minutes to record their first score which was a left footed point from full forward Odhran McFadden, the first of six scores from him. Two points from McGinley, one from the outside of the boot and one from Daly left Carrickmore 0-4 to 0-3 ahead at half time.
But this was as good as it got for them as St Michaels emerged for the second half in much more determined mood and immediately stamped their authority on proceedings with two McFadden frees and one from play from Shane Lagan. Carrickmore levelled matters with another Daly score and one from Ciaran Cuddy before six unanswered points from St. Michaels ended the game as a contest, two from McGinley, three from McFadden and one from raiding wing back Ruairi Friel. Cuddy finally recorded a Carrickmore reply but Lee McColgan ended the game in style with a brilliant effort from fifty yards as St. Michaels became the first Donegal side in a number of years to reach the semi-final.
They progress now to play St Bridgets, Antrim on Saturday next.
St. Michaels: Dean Mc Colgan, Aidan Mc Fadden, Jamie Hunter (Capt), Tony Toye, Hugh O’Donnell,Caolan Toye, Ruairi Friel (0-1), Ciaran McGinley (0-4 2f), Colin Mc Fadden, Charles Roarty, Shane Langan (0-1), Eoghan Kelly, Lee Mc Colgan (0-1), Odhran McFadden (0-6 4f), Liam Kelly.
Subs: Michael McFadden for Kelly(half time).
Carrickmore: Enda Hughes, Aidan McCallan, Lochrann O’Donnell, Pauric Mullan, Jude Glackin, James McGurk, Oran McKee, Dearcan O’Donnell, Conor Loughran (0-2), Dara Casey, Ciaran Daly (Capt) (0-3 1f), Tiernan Murray, Paddy McElduff, Jarlath Kerr, Ciaran Cuddy (0-2).
Subs: Conor Kelly for McCallan, Cormac Munroe for Casey.
Well done to the team and management on getting to the semi final which is in Dromore on this Saturday the 15th with the throw in at 1pm and all support would be greatly appreciated.

Red Hughs V Naomh Mhuire Division 4 League Final
It was a fast to the game start with both teams really attacking each other from the off. The Red Hugh’s girls opened the scoring with a fine score from Martina Rush. The Naomh Mhuire girls quickly equalised with the next attack. The reds then knocked over 3 without reply with Elaine Melaugh, Eimear Gallagher and Emma Mc Crory opening their accounts for the day. After 9 minutes Naomh Mhuire closed the gap to 2 point with another fine score. The Annagry girls then upped the tempo and in the 10th minute capatalised on a slip in the Reds defence and got the first goal of the game to put them 0-4 to 1-2 in front. Emma Mc Crory tapped over a free in the 17th minute to level the game. Naomh Mhuire finished the first half very strongly and scored 4 unanswered points to go in 0-5 to 1-6 in front at the break.
The Red Hugh’s girls opened the scoring through Niamh Mc Bride in the first minute of the second half. Naomh Mhuire cancelled it out in the very next attack. It was exciting stuff as both teams went on the offensive. Mc Bride knocked over another fine point to close the gap to 3 points once again. The Annagry girls put 4 between the again before Emma Mc Crory struck a fine point from distance to bring it back to a single score between the teams once again. Then a crucial decision by the referee to give a yellow card and a sin bin to Emma Brady which i doubt if he could even explain why!! This was the moment the game swung in Naomh Mhuire’s favour. In the power play ten minutes the Annagry girls scored a goal and 3 points unanswered to affectively put the game out of reach for the Cross girls. To their credit the girls never gave up and Emma scored a goal to lift their hopes with five minutes on the clock. Madeline Penrose struck a fine point a minute after to close the gap to 6 points 1-9 to 2-12 A late point and a goal in the final seconds from Naomh Mhuire put some more gloss on the score board for the Naomh Mhuire ladies. But truth be known the score did not reflect the game in full. A bad decision by the official and a couple of defensive errors was the undoing of the girls on the day.
The final score was Red Hughs 1-9 Naomh Mhuire 3-12
The final game of this year for the senior men is unfortunately a relegation play off with Naomh Ultan Dunkineely the opposition. The game is on this Saturday in Mountcharles with a 1pm throw in. Naomh Colmcille took on Milford at Pairc Colmcille knowing a win was essential to guaranteeing themselves at least a play-off, and possible promotion as winners of Division 3. As it was, they had to settle for a draw following a fiercely contested match.
Naomh Colmcille got off to a great start when Matthew Crossan found the net in the third minute after a long distance effort from Eddie Gillespie was parried by the Milford keeper. However Milford replied with a goal of their own in the 12th minute. Willie Gillespie restored the host’s lead but this was cancelled with a pointed free for the visitors. Milford went in front with their second goal in the 19th minute and followed this with another point. They then had a chance of a third goal just before half time but the shot was just wide of the post. Michael Lynch came up to take a long range free on the stroke of half time but his effort went wide. This left the half time score Naomh Colmcille 1-1 2-2 Milford.
The visitors extended their lead with the opening score of the second half, before Mark Dowds reduced the deficit with a point. A point from Ryan McErlean and a free from Joe Donaghey reduced the deficit to two points, before the visitors got in for their third goal after a low shot found it’s way to the corner of the net. They followed this with a point to take a 6 point advantage midway through the half. The hosts pressed hard to reduce the deficit and two points from Ryan McErlean, either side of a second goal from Matthew Crossan, meant Milford had the narrowest of advantages as the game entered it’s final moments. Joe Donaghy got a point to level the match, and then put Naomh Colmcille in front to the delight of the home crowd. However Milford levelled the match with the final score of the game. Both teams ended the match with 14 men, each having a player sent off during the second half for double yellow card offences. Full time score Naomh Colmcille 2-8 3-5 Milford.
The result, combined with Naomh Columba’s win at Urris, and Aodh Ruadh’s win at home to Naomh Brid, means Naomh Colmcille narrowly miss out on the promotion play-off, and finish in third place in the Division 3.
Naomh Colmcille: Michael Lynch, Ricky Hegarty, Alex Devenney, Eddie Gillespie, Paul Friel, Ryan McKinley, Don Hegarty, Ciaran Devine, Daniel Clarke, Mark Dowds (0-1), Ryan McErlean (0-3), Thomas McKinley, Joe Donaghey (0-3 (0-1f)), Matthew Crossan (2-0), Willie Gillespie (0-1).
The reserves fixture against Milford was cancelled.
Last Sunday was a historic day for the club when the newly-formed girls team took to the field for their first competitive match, when they travelled to Burt to play our neighbours. A massive well done and congratulations to all concerned.

Naomh Colmcille 2-8 CLG BnaG 3-5
The Seniors secured their Division 3 status after a tense and thrilling draw with Naomh Comcille today. With both teams having something to play for at opposite ends of the table it was never going to be easy for Shaun Paul Barretts squad. The Seniors were down to the bare bones today with just 16 players but each and every one of them put in a shift today on probably the worst pitch we have played on all year. Na Galloglaigh got off to a nightmare start when Newtown scored a goal with their first attack but this was cancelled out after 15 minutes when Kane Barrett found the bottom corner of the net, before his brother Luc O Bairead got another goal with 8 minutes of the half remaining. In a tight physical encounter played in boggy conditions it was never going to be a high scoring free flowing game and that was reflected in the half time scoreline, with the Gallowglasses leading 2-2 to 1-1 at the whistle. For the second time in a week Ryan McKinley saw red for Newtown to reduce them to 14 men with 16 minutes remaining, and shortly after this Tj Evesson got a third Na Galloglaigh goal to put them 6 points clear. Newtown, with their hopes of promotion diminishing, threw the kitchen sink at Na Galloglaigh and for the most part they defended very well but Naomh Colmcille kept chipping away at scores to reduce the difference. With 5 minutes remaining Jonny Logue saw the road after he picked up his second yellow and the lads seemed to hit the panic button a little as the cool heads needed to retain possession in the closing stages was missing and some sloppy passes were seized upon clinically by Newtown and all of a sudden Na Galloglaigh found themselves a point behind as the game went into injury time. However in the 63rd minute up popped Kane Barrett again to level matters and a minute later Christopher Barrett felt aggrieved, and probably rightly so, when he felt he should have had a free in a very scorable position, before the ref blew for full time. The draw was the least the lads deserved for their performance today and were unlucky not to pick up the full two points themselves. With Burt beating Red Hughs by 3 points the lads can relax now knowing they are guaranteed to be playing Division 3 football next year. Na Galloglaigh have one more game left with an Intermediate Championship relegation playoff against Downings, possibly next week.Team: Sean Gallagher, Gavin Grier, Sean Black, Conor McNulty, Kieran Sheridan, Paddy Peoples, Manus Boyce, Jonny Logue, Luke Barrett (1-0), Kane Barrett (1-1), Christopher Barrett (0-1), Pauric Curley, David Curley, Cathal Mc Gettigan (0-3), TJ Evesson (1-0). Sub: Tony Mcnamee for Boyce (45m)
