Donegal CCC confirm all Good Friday All-County Football League Division One fixtures are postponed
All of Good Friday’s All-County Football League Division One fixtures have been postponed following requests made to the Competitions’ Control Committee (CCC).

All of Good Friday’s All-County Football League Division One fixtures have been postponed following requests made to the Competitions’ Control Committee (CCC).

Clubs were offered to play their fixtures as star games, meaning an exclusion of senior county panellists, if they so wished or told to request a postponement with the CCC by 7:30pm on Tuesday evening.

A press release, circulated to the media at 1:45pm on Tuesday, read: “Following a request from the senior team management to postpone or put star fixtures in place for Friday evening’s games, the CCC reached a decision that clubs with players on the county panel can, if they wish go ahead with a star fixture or can request a postponement with the CCC. All changes must be with the CCC by 7:30pm this evening and the website www.donegalgaa.ie will carry any changes after 8:30pm tonight.”

Then, just before midnight, the official word came through and all five of the Division One fixtures - Kilcar v St Michael’s, Ardara v Glenswilly (8pm senior and 6:30pm reserve), Four Masters v Termon, Naomh Conaill v Malin and St Eunan’s v Gaoth Dobhair - that were scheduled for 7pm on Friday have been postponed.

Despite the initial press release stated that all reserve fixtures would go ahead at 5:30pm on Friday, four of the five in Division One, with the exception being Four Masters’ clash with Termon, are postponed.

Killybegss home fixture with Dungloe has also been postponed in Division Two, while in Division Three the senior and reserve fixture between Naomh Bríd and Red Hugh’s will now not go ahead on Friday.

Also in Division Three, Milford’s meeting with Aodh Ruadh, both senior and reserve, has been switched to Fr Tierney Park in Ballyshannon with 7pm and 5:30pm throw-ins respectively.

Sunday’s fixtures will continue as originally scheduled.
